How to choose best Christmas tree for your home or business premises?

Choosing the best Christmas tree for your home or business depends on a few factors. Budget, Size and Space are important and once you establish these, then your personal taste is the deciding factor. Check out below some considerations and recommendations for both home and business settings.

  • Size:

Measure the available space in your home or business location to make sure the tree fits comfortably. The most important factor to consider is the height of your ceiling. Measure the distance from the floor to the ceiling in the room where you plan to place the tree. You also need to measure the floor space the tree will be contained in. Is it going in a corner against a wall or in the centre of the room. Will there be enough space to walk safely around? Make sure it doesn’t block a light fitting. Will there be safe access to a power socket for your tree lights? Another thing to bear in mind is the diameter of the base of the tree. Usually, the base of the tree gets wider the taller the tree becomes.

7-7.5 Feet: 7ft and 7.5ft artificial Christmas trees are generally good to use in rooms with the standard ceiling height. They look tall and impressive and are usually the tallest feature in the room which really draws your attention. The standard ceiling height in Ireland is 8ft (2.4m).

8-9 Feet: 8ft, 9ft and 10ft trees are suitable for rooms with higher than 8ft ceilings. These taller trees are quite impressive and even majestic when placed in a higher room.

10 feet: A 10-foot artificial tree is a large and majestic option for those who have high ceilings or ample space and want to create a grand holiday display.

Under 7 feet: Great for smaller spaces and rooms with lower ceilings. They can be placed in alcoves and even on top of Furniture.

  • Style:

Choose a tree style that compliments your home or business décor. Common options include traditional green trees, white trees and coloured trees. Real trees come in all shapes from wide base with skinny top, tall and thin and uniformed shape. Thankfully we have a wide range of cone trees, branch trees, full and sparse.

  • Quality:

It’s good to invest in a high-quality artificial Christmas tree because it will last longer and look more realistic. Our artificial trees have hinged branches that simplify the setup. Easy to assemble, disassemble and store.

  • Durability:

Consider the durability of the tree. When you look after a good quality tree it will last for many years. Trees with sturdy metal frames and branches tend to last longer. And best of all, you’re not cutting down Christmas Trees year after year.

When should I put up my Christmas tree?

These days people put up Christmas trees whenever they want. We have so many Christmas lovers in Ireland. In the past the traditional time for putting up Christmas Trees was 8th December. Now people even put up their tree in October! So, it really is your choice, stick with tradition or create your own. Most people put up their Christmas trees in early December to enjoy it for as long as they can in the Christmas season.

Real or artificial Christmas Tree

Real trees are harvested from forests and are typically used for one season. They require regular watering to keep them fresh and prevent them from becoming a fire hazard. On the other hand, artificial trees require minimum maintenance and can be used and reused for many years. Our realistic Christmas trees are made with hinged branches for easy setup. Durable and last for many years.

Tips to decorate your Christmas Tree

Decorating an artificial Christmas tree can be a fun and creative process that allows you to fill your home with a Christmassy atmosphere. Check out below some tips to help you decorate your tree:

  • Fluff out the branches:

Before you decorate your Christmas tree, make sure to open up all the branches fully and fluff out and shape the branches. This step helps create a fuller and more natural looking appearance.

  • Choose a theme or colour scheme:

Decide on a decorating theme or colour scheme before you start. This will help you to choose the ornaments, lights and decorations that work well.

  • Lights:

Start with the Christmas lights. If your tree isn’t pre-lit, string the lights evenly from top to bottom leaving the power plug at the bottom of the tree. A set of warm white Christmas lights will look fantastic on a tree but you can choose ice white lights to create a dazzling look. You can use the branches to hold the lights in the position you want. It’s a good idea to place lights inside the tree as well as on the outside to give it extra depth. Remember to use a minimum of 100 LEDs per foot of tree to make your tree look amazing. (So, if you have a 7ft tree, you need at least 700 LEDs).

  • Tinsel or Ribbon:

After the lights, add tinsel or ribbon. These can be woven through the branches in a spiral pattern or draped in a cascading fashion. Again tinsel can be placed inside on the branches as well as on the outside to create depth. Make sure they are evenly distributed.

  • Ornaments:

Hang large ornaments first, spacing them evenly around the tree. Then, fill in with smaller ornaments. Place ornaments deeper into the tree to add depth and interest.

  • Decorations beyond the tree:

Extend your decorating theme to the surrounding areas with garlands on the mantelpiece, windowsills and shelves to create a cohesive holiday décor scheme.

Remember that there’s no right or wrong way to decorate a Christmas tree. The most important thing is to have fun, be creative and decorate your tree so that it brings joy and a Christmas Spirit to your home.
